Here is Aislin having her very first experience with food.
Do you think she wants more?
I think we'll wait a bit longer to try again...
I offered her some more a little later, and she was not into it.

Every time I watch it I find myself making the same faces Aislin makes.
I honestly can't figure out if she likes it or not.
Don't give up because of the first experience! All my kids did that at first. Try using a baby spoon...let her play with it for awhile. Also, I always did a little of rice with like pears or something to start off with. Because plain baby rice is YUCKY!!! You eat that stuff plain! I usually put pears or whatever in the same bowl as my rice...I don't mix them together but will grab a little of each on my spoon. Give it a try! She is a cutie though!
She actually has a baby spoon that we let her chew on when we go out to eat somewhere... I just have this feeling that we should wait...don't know why....We plan on introducing fruits later, after veggies... We want to save the sweeter stuff until after she has tried all the veggies, so she won't be super picky. I have read this works, so I'll give it a try.
I heard that mixing expressed breast milk with the cereal and mixing it very thin makes the transition to solids easier and more familiar for babies. But trust your instincts. If you feel that it's not time yet and she's not starving there no reason you would have to start now.
Yeah, I'm gonna use breastmilk next time. I was going to, and totally forgot. I'm glad I decided to wait, because Aislin was backed up for a day and a half before finally pooping. She had some bad gas, and when she finally filled a diaper, it was the rankest thing I've ever smelled...
That's hilarious!! The funny thing is she did REALLY GOOD! Way better than my kids eating solids for the first time! It really doesn't taste, it's the texture thing that throws them off. She's so darn cute!
LOL- just read the diaper comment. Welcome to the world of non breastmilk poops! ICK! It just gets worse :)
LOL Aja that was such a great video!! Aislin actually did REALLY well! She was keeping all the food in her mouth, Gawyn kept spitting most of his right back out the first few times we fed him! I think she liked it but may have been gagging on the texture because it was kind of thick. I loved how she started "telling" you about it! So cute!!
