So this July we decided we would drive to Texas with 2 small children. And by small, I mean an almost 3 year old and a 2 month old. We also took Harley.
Yes, we are gluttons for punishment. Thanks for asking.
Actually, it wasn't too bad. It did take us 2 and a half days to get there, but the kids did pretty good. Oliver was DONE with the carseat by the second day, and it took us longer, because we had to stop, because he would cry so hard he would be covered in sweat. And I didn't even let him cry for more than a couple of minutes. I just couldn't handle it.
Needless to say, we stopped often to nurse him, and during these times, Jordan would take Harley and Aislin for walks. It was good for them to get their wiggles out.
I am so thankful for technology. We have a DVD player installed in the van, so Aislin was in hog heaven watching movies. We also hooked up the portable DVD player so that Oliver could watch his Baby Einstein from his rear facing seat. That helped tremendously.
Here are some pictures from our first full day. We went over to my brother Ben's house to help him put the foundation in for his above ground pool.
Here is Aunt Lisa with Cousin Lily and Oliver.

Gramma Robin with Cousin Ava. She was born just a week earlier than Oliver on my birthday.

Ben looking like a farmer.

Jordan hard at work. He was anxious to get the pool up and get in it.

Cousin Trinity and Aislin were good helpers. Aislin was not used to the heat and humidity. She also skipped her naps a lot while we were there. Her hair curled up a lot in the humidity too.

Cousin Joseph helped too.

After all that hard work, the kids were able to play in the sprinklers and get soaked.

Ben.

Gramma Robin in Grandma Heaven. This brings back lots of memories for her, when my twin brother Nick and I were babies.

Sweet Joseph was so happy to hold Oliver.
