8 Months

Well folks.... Here I am at 35 weeks and now I have begun my 9th and final (hopefully) month of pregnancy! Unless I'm carrying an elephant baby, then I could go longer. Sometimes I wonder.

Everything is going great. I am more tired and hot now that summer is in full swing. I feel like a Sumo wrestler when I go up and down the stairs at our new condo.(post coming soon)
The baby is doing well, she likes to move around when I'm sleeping. We just can't wait to meet her and see who she looks like.

Who says Angelina Jolie is the only sexy pregnant chic??

31weeks/7Months!!

Well, we are still counting down to the big day. Only 2 months left. I still can't believe how fast this is going by. It seems just like yesterday I was buying a pregnancy test at the dollar store. Everyone keeps telling me these last two months will drag by.
I know this last week did. I woke up on Monday and was super sick. I lost lots of fluids through out the day. I was in so much back pain and so weak that I decided to lay in the hallway to make the trips back and forth to the bathroom easier.
Jordan came home from work and saw me in the hallway and was totally freaked. I asked him to call the Midwife because my back was hurting so bad and I wasn't able to move much. She wanted us to go to the ER because she thought I could be in pre-term labor. Not good.
Jordan helped me get dressed and took me. They admitted me and strapped the fetal and contraction monitors on my belly. There were no signs of contractions. Whoo hoo!. I was given a couple bags of fluids through an IV and some Tylenol for the back pain. After 4 hours we finally saw the on-call Doctor and he said it was probably food poisoning or some bug going around and that I just was super dehydrated and it was good I came in to get the fluids I needed. If I hadn't, I could have gone into labor..... I felt much better after getting the IV.
While we were there and waiting, Jordan called his friend Luke to come and give me a Blessing. It was very comforting to know that the baby fine and that everything will go according to plan with this pregnancy. I'm so very thankful for the Priesthood and for my wonderful husband who took such great care of me through the whole thing. He is my rock.
We were able to go home after talking to the Doctor.
I felt so much better the next morning, but just weak....
We thought I had food poisoning until Jordan became sick Wednesday afternoon with the same thing I had only he vomited so hard and so many times that he broke blood vessels in his face. Poor guy, I'm just glad that I was feeling good enough to take care of him this time. He slept all day and I made sure he didn't let himself get dehydrated like I did. He was feeling a bit better that night. And much better by Friday.

Wednesday before Jordan came down with what I had, we had a prenatal appointment with the Midwife. I lost another 2 pounds this time, but I'm sure that's due to being so ill. The Midwife isn't worried about it at all...Not sure if that's good or what...
Anyway, The baby looks good, she is still head down, smart girl, and has a strong heartbeat. We are starting our
biweekly appointments now and look forward to it.
She is getting so strong with her movements now, and I am having a harder time sleeping. She likes to kick the bed on the side I'm sleeping on. She also enjoys kicking my bladder. Last night was neat because she had the hiccups and they were so strong Jordan got to feel the rhythm of them. Jordan is always amazed when he sees my belly move or gets to feel her pushing on his hand. He just can't wait to see and hold her.
In other news, we started our Bradley classes on Tuesday night. For those who don't know that they are.... It is a birthing method that is also called Husband Coached Childbirth. It was a neat thing to get together with four other couples at our instructors home and learn some relaxation techniques and exercises to help prepare for birth. It is normally a 12 week class, but because we are all due the end of August or beginning of September (including the instructor) she is combining the first 2 classes and second 2 classes into one class. This way we have 10 classes and all should probably make it to the end. The last class is 2 days before my due date!
I hope you all enjoyed this update..... I'll try to do better in the future!

Those Blasted Maternal Instincts.

So this morning Mom, Nickolas and I were on our way to Houston. We stopped at a red light at the busiest intersection in this small town....when low and behold I look out the window into the lane next to us on the right side and there is a huge turtle, just sitting there.... in the middle of the lane....

My senses must have left me because I jumped out of the car and picked the turtle up. As I was picking him up, I noticed the long tail..... I thought to myself..... "HOLY CRAP! IT'S A SNAPPING TURTLE"

Then it started to pee......and I mean really pee.... I'm pretty sure it was a gallon....So I started to hop around in the road to avoid the pee and the pee splash rebound off the road.... I'm also yelling at the top of my lungs, "IT'S PEEING, IT'S PEEING..."

(Can you picture this yet?)

The peeing stopped and I noticed the light turned green. I'm pregnant running to the car and about to sit down when the blasted turtle started to pee again.... Well, I didn't want pee on me or on my purse that was laying on the floor boards and I didn't know what to do.
My brain had left me....along with my senses.

I somehow managed to sit down and get my feet in the car while holding the turtle out the door... I started screaming at my mom,"GO, GO!" The door was still open.... the turtle was still peeing... I was still freaking out.

I realized at this point that I no longer wanted to hold this turtle, but I sure as heck didn't want to drop it on the floor board so it could eat me alive!! So I did like any 3 year old would do..... I became hysterical.... I was crying and laughing at the same time. Screaming now.... " I DON'T LIKE IT! I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS ANYMORE...." This became my chant for what seemed like an hour, as my mom was driving to the bird sanctuary 5 miles away.... I looked over at Mom and she was laughing so hard she couldn't speak... Although she did manage to say, " You wanna switch?"
Of course I did, but I didn't want her to stop the car.... I was in mortal danger, didn't she know this??? I could hear Nickolas (my Downsyndrome Twin) in the backseat giggling at the whole scene. He loves this kind of stuff.

Did I mention the smell? The thing smelled like rotting fish flesh. I thought I would puke. The door had shut from the wind while driving, so I begged Mom to roll the window down. She did. I still thought I would puke.... I don't like puking...

We finally get to the sanctuary and I had mom pull off to the side of the road...
Knowing the end was near, I told her to grab my camera to get a picture of this huge Turtle of Terror. As you can see in the picture with me.... I'm totally freaked...
Mom finally took the Turtle of Terror from me and placed him in the woods towards the water. I was heaving into the grass, trying not to pee myself. Did I mention the smell? It was still stuck to my hands.... blech.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Goodbye Turtle!!

27weeks/6months

Just thought I'd give an update on the Bump Watch!! I am now 6 months pregnant. I am feeling pretty good still, just some more heartburn. I do get hot very fast, especially now that I'm visiting the family in Texas. More on that later.
The baby is doing great. She is getting stronger and more active by the day. I'm starting to have a hard time going to sleep if she's moving around. Sometimes I think there's a freaking hockey team in there!!
Hope ya'll like the update....I'll try not to wait so long next time.
